Michael was born and raised in Pensacola, FL, where he lived until the age of 21. At that time he joined the Job Corp and lived in several different states before arriving in California in 1978. Michael enjoyed California so much, what started out as a two week vacation turned into a permanent move.
Once in California, Michael landed a job as a bus driver in San Bernardino. He drove for 3 years. In the time to follow Michael worked in a variety of jobs, including as a security guard. During this time Michael was diagnosed with Muscular Dystrophy. As his condition progressed he was eventually forced to stop working at the age of 27.
In 2000, Michael moved to Huntington Gardens, where he participates in our many resident social events and enjoys the beautiful beach weather.
Despite some of the limitations he meets with his disability, Michael does not let Muscular Dystrophy define who he is. Michael is an active member of the Huntington Gardens community and can always be counted on to lend a hand or volunteer his time. Michael finds meaning through his faith, family and friends.
Michael is an inspiration to anyone who faces challenges or limitations. A true success story!
